This position is in a civil service competitive class that is subject to examination. Position is only open to current NYC employees with permanent NYC civil service status as Electrician or current NYC employees who are permanent in an equivalent title that is eligible for transfer under 6.1.9 to Electrician or candidates who have taken the most recent Electrician civil service examination. Description: |
Position Summary: The Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing electrical and data infrastructure components in all field locations, data centers, and network locations. In addition, the Electrician is responsible for supporting the electrical and data initiatives in over 1800+ schools as well as performing all related break-fix work. Performs related work.
Reports to: Supervisor Electrician
Direct Reports: N/A
Key Relationships: Works with DOE technical teams to provide technical solutions to all field locations, data centers, and networks.

Minimum
License Requirements
A Motor Vehicle Driver license valid in the State of New York.
For certain positions, a Special Electrician license issued by the New York City Department of Buildings is required.
All licenses must be maintained for the duration of employment.
Preferred
Salary: $440.16 DAY RATE
(Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
